History and Background
Empowering UMaT graduates to sustain our shared legacy.
ALUMaT is the Alumni Association of University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa, Ghana, which is very desirous to promote the name and image of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, to assist our Alma Mater and to have a common front in tackling the issues confronting all those who have graduated from Tarkwa Technical Institute, the Tarkwa School of Mines, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology School of Mines (KNUSTSM), Tarkwa, the Western University College (WUC) of KNUST and UMaT.
Objectives
- Mobilize and integrate all old students of the Tarkwa Technical Institute, Tarkwa School of Mines, KNUSTSM, WUC, and UMaT as a unitary entity to facilitate effective implementation of the mission and vision of UMaT.
- Foster close relationship among all branch associations as much as possible to facilitate oneness of purpose in contributing towards the growth of ALUMaT and UMaT as a whole; encourage all alumni to conduct their lives in the society in order not to bring
- Place at the disposal of the students, academia and society, members’ experience and expertise, as a means of contributing effectively to the development of the nation’s resources.
